Chapman Falls, a 60-foot tiered waterfall on the Eightmile River in East Haddam, is the centerpiece of Devil's Hopyard. People jump from the lower ledges into the pool below, which is deep and clear. The park has trails, a campground, and one of the most scenic settings in CT. The name alone makes it worth the trip. Parking lot fills up on summer weekends, so get there before 9am. Waterfall views are stunning year-round even if you're not jumping.
