One of CT's best-kept secrets — a river gorge in Washington where the Shepaug River cuts through steep wooded cliffs. The trails follow the river closely, cross a swinging bridge, pass old quarry sites, and reach open ledges above the gorge. Do the full loop; it's all worth it.
