Connecticut's only undeveloped coastal reserve, an 800-acre peninsula in Groton jutting into the Thames River and Fisher's Island Sound. The 3.7-mile loop trail runs along rocky bluffs with open views of Long Island Sound and crosses a sandy tombolo beach at the tip. No facilities, no pavement, no crowds compared to other coastal spots. Great for birding in fall. Leash-friendly for dogs. Free, open year-round.
